Esty Street and the CocoTufo

Esty Street in Park Ridge, NJ highlights so many of the reasons why I love to dine out. It was one of the first special occasion restaurants that I was introduced to as a kid, and I enjoyed every iteration of it as it evolved into what it is now.
I can still taste the pineapple infused vodka, poured out of massive glass jars, each filled with a whole pineapple, when I could finally imbibe with my parents (LOL). That was a long time ago, but maybe they should consider bringing that back?🍍
It was and still is a big deal restaurant. The warm and inviting interior was designed by the fabulous Philip LaBossier. The food is super delicious, the staff is charming and passionate—you’ll leave happy and satisfied, and like you’ve found your place❤️.
Saving the best for last: dessert! If it’s homemade ice cream and involves a chocolate shell….I might just put my no sugar rule on brief hiatus. This dessert is outstanding. I’m sure all of their desserts are, but this is the one for me. It’s heavenly. It has texture and chewiness; it’s chocolaty and coconutty; it’s just sweet enough. They don’t smother their desserts in powdered sugar. I believe there’s a hint of salt in there —you’ll have to have a bite and let me know what you taste!
